How far along? 14 Weeks

Baby Size: A Lemon

Weight gain: I am still down about three pounds since I got pregnant, but up two from the weight I had lost.

Maternity clothes? Still wearing my stretch jeans and regular shorts.

Belly Button in or out? Partially out, with a little more POP by night.

Best moment this week: Having another ultrasound and seeing the baby constantly moving, flailing, and moving exactly opposite of where the tech needed.

Miss Anything? Running and lifting. The doctor has put me on slight precautions until further notice due to placenta previa. It is no big deal and in many cases fixes itself, but it is better to be safe than sorry. In the meantime, I have been going on long walks and doing some light body weight exercises with long breaks. No matter the obstacles, there are always ways to overcome them.unnamed-1

Movement: It is still too early to feel anything, but that baby is a mover and a shaker according to the ultrasound.

Food cravings: Let’s be honest, I love all things mac and cheese. Since I am tolerating food much better this week, I will be working on making a healthier mac and cheese. Stay tuned! I am also loving eggs right now.

Gender: We will likely find out in 5 weeks or so.

Looking forward to: Our next doctor’s appointment in two weeks.

A few of the healthier foods that I have been enjoying this week include egg sandwiches, Quest Bars, & lentil bruschetta dip. All of these healthy options give baby and I the protein we need to grow, as well as vitamins and minerals we need to stay healthy. Even though I have not gained any weight, the baby is already weighing in large, meaning it is getting a lot of nutrients in there! Try some of these recipes to keep you feeling healthy and satisfied:

Egg Sandwich

2 slices Udi’s gluten free bread, toasted

1 egg

Egg whites


1 wedge laughing cow cheese (I opted for garlic and herb)

1 tomato, slicedEgg Sandwich

Fry up egg and egg whites. Spread cheese on one slice of toast and avocado on the other. Add egg and topped with tomato slices.

Lentil Bruschetta

Simply mix ready to eat lentils and bruschetta (both of these I bought at Trader Joe’s), and enjoy! This is great when paired with flax seed chips, veggie chips, vegetables, mixed with eggs, or as a side to any meal!

  1. I wish I had a great resource like this to read when I was pregnant! I lived on bacon and chips for the first 12 weeks. You look amazing and I am so inspired by your healthy outlook on life!
