Healthy Pregnancy – 13 Weeks

I am excited to announce that we are expecting a new member in our family. Over the next several months I invite you to join the journey of the baby bump growth. I will be posting workouts that I am doing, and recipes that I am loving, to maintain a healthy pregnancy!

Being pregnant is not a time to let yourself go. It is the most important time to take care of your body and yourself. I do not want to wallow in the discomforts that come along with pregnancy. Instead, I choose to embrace the wonder of pregnancy and all of the discomforts and joys that come with it!

How far along? 13 Weeks, 2 Days

Baby Size: A peach

Weight gain: I have lost five pounds to date. This is all due to loss of muscle during the first trimester when I was too uncomfortable to lift. Another sign that weight is not always the best indicator of your fitness!

Maternity clothes? Not yet. I’m still fitting into my normal clothes, even when I am not wearing yoga pants!

Belly Button in or out? I have a partial outie to begin with, so it is still partially out.

Best moment this week: Getting to share our news with everyone.

Miss Anything? Being able to cook. With food aversions still lurking, cooking the healthy food I love to eat has become a bit of a task. Luckily, when others cook I am able to eat healthy food.

Movement: I cannot feel any movement, but we saw the baby doing lots of acrobats during our ultrasound last week.

Food cravings: While I am not craving anything in particular, I am subsisting off of a lot of fruit, eggs, and cheese. I am also loving plain Greek yogurt with heated up frozen blueberries (heat them up for 45 seconds to a minute) and granola.

Gender: We still have a little while until we find out.

Looking forward to: Starting to see a real baby bump, instead of looking like I am going to town on the donuts!
